Liptelvin Hillside Retreat wins tourism award
Christel and Phil Jensen of Liptelvin Hillside Retreat, Goughs Bay, have taken out a prestigious national tourism award for their pet and family friendly accommodation.
Run by Australia's only independent boutique accommodation site TakeABreak.com.au - the award recognises outstanding service in specialist segment categories and provide holiday-makers with great suggestions based on their needs.
All listings on TakeABreak.com.au are reviewed by guests, and the winners are then especially selected from more than 22,000 properties in 1400 localities and 39 accommodation types.
Guests are the ultimate judges with the finalists having to qualify with a consistent 4/5 star rating from five or more guest comments. Using this feedback TakeABreak narrows down the field to about 150 finalists. A team then reviews each property on a number of criteria eventually selecting a winner for each category.
Winning the 'Family-friendly Holiday Accommodation' award, Liptelvin was voted the best from clients staying at the property.
"We are so proud to win this award from TakeABreak.com.au as it shows us how happy our guests are," Mrs Jensen said. "It is also a testament to the tourism industry in the Mansfield region."
In 2009 Liptelvin Hillside Retreat was a state finalist in the category - Pet Friendly Accommodation. In 2010 Liptelvin Hillside Retreat was again a state finalist in the category - Pet Friendly Accommodation and in it's first year of entry in the category, state finalist for - Family Friendly Accommodation, announced as a state winner for the latter. It then went on to win the national award.
Liptelvin is located 18km from Mansfield with Delatite River frontage and spectacular views of Mt Buller. The Jensens believe in warm country .hospitality, and so do their friendly animals, which is evident by the comments from their guests.
